Nutrition for Hormonal Harmony
28 September 2016
This week sees the start of the new CPD programme of Functional Nutrition Days for healthcare practitioners.
A key area of focus will be female hormones and how to balance them for optimal health and wellbeing. Imbalances in hormones like oestrogen and progesterone can occur at any stage of life and can lead to debilitating health issues like pre-menstrual syndrome, amenorrhea, fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and a difficult transition through the menopause. In this seminar, we use a Functional Nutrition approach to explore how to support clients presenting with these types of hormonal conditions, by identifying and supporting the most influential underlying biochemical pathways.
It's only by understanding how to support all stages of the hormonal lifecyle - hormone synthesis, conversion, binding, transport, detoxification and excretion - that we can work out what laboratory testing would be most enlightening, and how best to intervene. So come along and join this stimulating day. As always, the emphasis will be on exploring effective interventions using diet, nutritional supplements and lifestyle changes.
We're also running a workshop for students on how to build a successful practice.
And we're doing an exciting day on one of the most comprehensive and useful laboratory screens available: Genova Diagnostics NutrEval Plus Genomics.
