Lorraine Nicolle is an experienced and regulated nutrition clinician, educator and author.

Lorraine’s expertise lies in her ability to apply nutrition science in the promotion of health and peak performance. She has a track record of working with individuals with a broad range of health conditions, helping them to use nutrition to improve their quality of life. Personal nutrition consultations are held from her clinic in South East London.
Lorraine has an MSc in Nutrition and Chronic Disease (for which she was awarded a Distinction) from Middlesex University; and a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from The UK College of Nutrition and Health. Her post-graduate study has focused on the immune system, the role of nutrition in cancer care, obesity and insulin resistance, and nutrigenomics.
She holds a Certificate of Competency from the Nutritional Therapy Council .
Training & Education Services
Lorraine is also a qualified higher education teacher and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Over the last few years she has developed and taught nutrition courses on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes at British universities and colleges. These include Thames Valley University (now the University of West London), University of Greenwich, Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management, UK College of Nutrition and Health and the Manipal University of Great Britain.
She is currently supervising research students on the BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy programme validated by Middlesex University and (on behalf of the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management is developing the Chronic Disease module to teach on the MSc Functional Nutrition to be launched in September 2011.
Lorraine provides nutrition consultancy to a range of businesses. This includes a healthcare company, where she writes and delivers nutrition papers and lectures for the company’s client base of healthcare practitioners. It also includes law firms, financial services institutions and other organizations, where she enhances employee welfare programmes by providing training and advice on healthy eating. In this role she has worked with organisations such as Cameron McKenna, Harbour and Jones, The Food Doctor, The Energy Project and Ovation XL.
Writing & Professional Experience
Lorraine writes extensively on nutrition. She has co-authored-edited 3 books on personalised nutrition Biochemical Imbalances in Disease., The Functional Nutrition Cookbook and Eat to Get Younger. She has also series edited 2 recent books: Mitochondria in Health and Disease by Ray Griffiths, and Case Studies in Personlised Nutrition by Angela Walker.
Lorraine is registered with The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and is a member of The British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), where she sat on the CPD committee for two years until 2007.
Prior to her nutrition focus, Lorraine worked in business and marketing management, including as Head of Marketing (London and Continental Europe) at one of the world’s largest law firms (www.Eversheds.com); and as an Associate Director at a corporate communications consultancy (www.spada.co.uk). She holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
